Air Operations Supervisor - Kabul Job - Ska Group

Role & Responsibilities

Prior Air Operations experience (preferably some military) is a must. Responsibilities may include the sale and dispensing of aviation fuel general commercial and military aviation requirements aircraft storage ramp service major aircraft service and minor repair grooming and maintenance weather servicing aircraft parking and towing and other ground operations required by aircraft traffic at each site.
• Direct ground crews in the loading, unloading, securing, and staging of aircraft cargo or baggage.
• Has dispatch, weight and balance experience.
• Distribute cargo in such a manner that space use is maximized.
• Calculate load weights for different aircraft compartments, using charts and computers.
• Determine the quantity and orientation of cargo, and compute an aircraft's center of gravity.
• Accompany aircraft as a member of the flight crew in order to monitor and handle cargo in flight
• Direct and responsible for company flight operations including flight and mission safety, staff, pilot and field worker training, daily readiness, performance, equipment maintenance, evaluating risk, emergency response and investigative follow-up.
• Develop a short term and multi-year strategic aviation fleet plan in collaboration with a cross company team.
• Plan to include the following: Organizational considerations, Mission/flight hour evaluation, Resource acquisition plan that will address both aircraft and personnel projections, Budgetary forecast, Aviation and/or special equipment acquisitions, Contracting portfolio
• Adherence to all established standards and procedures; Active and informed use of the risk/hazard assessment and mitigation plan;
• All training and record keeping requirements
• Implement pre-mission Risk/Safety certification system for pilots and operators.
• Establish and implement protocols and procedures for safe operation and coordination of multiple aircraft at the same work sites and/or sites in close proximity to each other.
• Establish and supervise a scheduling department that is responsible for the scheduling of all missions requested by authorized persons, including: matching user requirements with available, qualified aircraft and flight crews, resolving scheduling conflicts, flight following of all aircraft assigned, collecting and tracking performance metrics.
• Develop and implement training programs for lineman or other related personnel classifications that may work in, on, around or under an aircraft in the performance of their duties.
• Supervise and coordinate all in-house aircraft flight and maintenance operations, including pilot qualifications and training, aircraft availability and record keeping.

About the Job:

We are currently looking to recruit a number of Technicians - Heavy Equipment, to join our FAMCO business in Afghanistan. The Technicians will be responsible for carrying out all maintenance and repairs, diagnosing and rectifying faults on the products listed below and resolving customer complaints adhering to prescribed product and service standards.
The essential functions of this role include:

- Diagnosis and fault analysis of all the products for faults and arrives at the root cause of problem while allowing for the accurate preparation of cost quotations

- Repairs:
Ensures necessary repairs are carried out as per standard specifications ensuring the minimum down time and resolution of defects resulting in customer satisfaction

- Routine and preventive maintenance as per manufacturers' guidelines

The key responsibilities of this role include:

- Carries out the necessary services, maintenance and repairs on site and in workshop, using standard tools and instruments and within the prescribed time frame, to ensure the total customer satisfaction

- Assesses the cause of the failure of parts and submits appropriate reports that enable decisions on reusability and replacement of parts

- Makes cost effective use of material and manpower in order to maintain productivity and efficiency standards

- Ensures that the customers are aware of preventive maintenance in order to enable least downtime of the equipment and continuity of operations

- Prepares necessary reports and orders regarding repair, warranty, parts, defects etc., to enable Workshop Foreman and Workshop Manager to take corrective action

- Ensures the workshop is kept clean and confirms to the laid down safety standards for material and equipment
