Bayt.com has been very instrumental to securing my present job as a lecturer in mechanical engineering of Jubail University College (JUC), an affiliate of the Royal Commission for Jubail. I registered on Bayt.com by submitting my profile as an applicant for various positions like mechanical/manufacturing engineer in oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, petrochemical industries and lecturer in mechanical/manufacturing engineering in universities in the GCC countries in 2008. Since then Bayt.com has been sending job vacancies that match my profile in the aforementioned industries via email messages. It was in 2011 that the job vacancies by the JUC caught my fancy. I applied and the rest is history.

The procedures for applying for the vacancies in JUC were purely rested with Bayt.com. That is, all applications were submitted via Bayt.com; shortlisting, after carefully perusing all the resumes submitted and after considering the strengths and weaknesses of each applicant was also done via Bayt.com. I was among the privileged few that were considered to the interview stage. Then came the interviews. I was also advised to select a date for the interview from a period of a month or two through Bayt.com. The flexibility in the choice of an interview date provided an opportunity to carefully select a Saturday where I envisaged that there would be little or no interference by family members, colleagues at school and no disruption of internet service. Please note that Saturday is a weekend in Malaysia. The interview was conducted via Skype and it lasted for about an hour. Therefore, the strategies that I used were to provide all the information required honestly and adequately with a good sense of humor, humility and integrity both in the application and the interview stages. These qualities are necessary ingredients to get hired for a job of one's dream.

Finally, I wish to state that Bayt.com has helped me immensely in getting my dream job and I am grateful.

Once upon a time I was a fresh IT graduate who wished for a strong start at a reputable company, I was surfing all the jobs sites day and night for a whole week, then I found this opening vacancy at the job site itself "Bayt.com"!
