The Abou ghali Group is one of the largest private groups Egypt, in terms of paid up share capital. During the late 1980's and early 1990's, Mr. Abou ghali established a consolidated network of automotive dealerships and service stations that grew to become of a considerable public renown. Abou ghali CARS CO., and later EL MASREYA FOR AGENCIES AND SERVICE STATIONS (S.A.E), are the two joint stock companies controlling the network. With revenues of around L.E.300 million, as records of fiscal year '99 indicate, the two companies boast of being at the lead of the automotive industry in Egypt. In 1996, Shahd limousine, a car rental company, was established as a subsidiary to the Abou ghali network. In line with his strategy to diversify from automotive dealerships, related service stations and car rentals, Mr. Abou ghali scrutinized the food processing industry, and saw the opportunity in the pasta market. In 1990, Regina was born, and it now enjoys around 50% market share of Egyptian pasta. Subsequently, real estate interests were actualized and transferred into Sharm. international for tourist development which owns Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza and Melia Corals in Sharm EI Sheikh. Miac, the largest importer of High quality furniture from Europe, the Far East and the U. S, was later established in 1996.
