Since our foundation in 1890, we have become a major player within a variety of sectors; initially in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and, more recently, throughout the Middle East and Turkey. Today, we have over 4,800 employees; of these, more than 3,500 work within our retail division. To keep abreast of ever-changing commercial developments within the region has taken foresight and energy - family traditions for over a century.Our mission is to be recognised as the region's leading retailer, operating international franchise brands to the highest standards. Through a spirit of trust, co-operation and best practice, we aim to build and maintain long-lasting, professional and mutually profitable business partnerships. Saudi Arabia, currently our largest market, has over 140 stores, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 120 stores, and Kuwait with 90 stores. We have a significant presence in Qatar (32 stores), Bahrain (25 stores), Oman (11 stores) and Lebanon (30 stores). We have recently established our operations in Turkey, and currently have 5 stores open in Istanbul. We are also looking at new retail opportunities in other Middle East countries.
