Established in 2000, ATU a joint venture between TAV Airports Holding, Unifree Duty Free Inc. and Gebr. Heinemann has expanded to become a successful international duty free operator chain and the leading duty free operator in Turkey. ATU is the sole duty free operator in the Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and Gazipasa airports in Turkey, Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi Airports in Georgia, the Enfidha – Hammamet Airport and Monastir Airport in Tunisia, the Skopje and Ohrid Airports in Macedonia, the Riga Airport in Latvia that cover a total space of about 21 ,000 square meters. ATU has recently won the duty free, F&B and retail operations tender of the Salalah airport in Oman and the 5 airports’ duty free tender for Carthage, Djerba, Sfax, Tozeur and Tabarka Airports in Tunisia and started operations as of November 2014. ATU has taken over the duty free operation of the Medinah Airport in Saudi Arabia in 2015. Recently, as of March 2015, we have been awarded the tender to operate at the George Bush International Airport in Texas, Houston for 10 years.
