Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait’s Card Center, has, over a decade, been the front-number of Credit Cards on the island, and has the maximum number of cardholders in its fold by far. However, with the changing size and scope of the market place, the increase in customer’s expectations, more media exposure, and technology savvier society, Credit Card operations of BBK had to evolve with the greater focus and independence to maintain its leadership position. Consequently, CrediMax was incorporated in April 1998 and launched on November 15th, 2000. CrediMax issued both VISA and MasterCard cards, Classis, Gold and Internet cards. CrediMax also acquires cards through Point of Sales (POS) machines that are offered to merchants. These machines accept all cards that carry the logo of VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Electron, Benefit, and JCB in addition to AMEX and Diners. Since its launch, CrediMax has expanded its operation tremendously and has launched innovative products, services and promotion campaigns. CrediMax’s own Internet card- Credinet, was one of the most innovative and key products to have been offered. Among others, one of the main services that the cardholders avail of is the Card’s affiliation to Gulf Air’s Falcon Frequent Flyer program and FALCON miles. CrediMax also offers a basket of insurance packages to cardholders, such as travel insurance and travel assistance, and card protection scheme in addition to protection against unemployment, permanent and temporary disablement and death.
