​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory​ (DHCR) is an independent regulatory arm of Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), the governing body of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) free zone - a health and wellness destination.​​ Launched in 2002 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the world’s largest healthcare free zone comprises two phases. Phase 1, dedicated to healthcare and medical education, occupies 4.1 million square feet in Oud Metha, and Phase 2, which is dedicated to wellness, occupies 22 million square feet in Al Jadaf, overlooking the historic Dubai Creek. The free zone has four verticals – Dubai Healthcare City Regulatory (DHCR), Dubai Healthcare City Investment (DHCI), Dubai Healthcare City Education (DHCE) and Dubai Healthcare City Medical (DHCM). Together, leveraging the free zone’s global healthcare standards, and strengthening its medical tourism portfolio and its clinical-academic environment. Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory (DHCR), regulates the free zone, and reports directly to the DHCA Board. DHCR is responsible for ensuring compliance and enforcement of international quality standards for clinical and non-clinical facilities, Licensure of all healthcare professionals, educators and operators and setting and maintaining international best practices in delivering healthcare within DHCC.
