HRD International was created to serve the human resource needs of the Sultan Group of Companies including the National Real Estate Company, PWC Logistics and the Sultan Center. From those early beginnings HRD commenced working with clients outside this group in the private sector and also the oil sector offering a range of HR consultancy services and business training at various levels. In 2001, HRD developed into a joined venture entity between NREC from Kuwait and GKN from the United Kingdom under the auspices of the Kuwait Government’s Offset Program. Operating from Kuwait Free Trade Zone, HRD established Business development centers in KFTZ and in Southern Iraq. In 2001, HRD extended the range of training services by merging the British Institute of Training and Education (BITE) activities with HRD training services. In 2001, HRD got into Academic Education and established Kuwait Maastricht School of Business (KMBS) under the Ameri Decree of Private Universities and in affiliation with Maastricht Management School MsM. KMBS has extended services to include executive programs to meet corporate learning needs. In 2003, HRD started a series of affiliations and partnerships with international providers of HR services and management training.
