Launched in October 1998, Maktoob.com Inc. has successfully been marking its presence on the web as the largest Arab virtual community in the world, with almost ONE MILLION users from all over the world. Our aim @Maktoob is to spread the Arabic language on the Internet, to facilitate communication amongst Arabs and to foster a positive understanding of our culture. Although originally conceived as an Arabic/English e-mail service, Maktoob has been diversifying its features and expanding into Business to Consumer and Business to Business services, including e-commerce and outsourcing business and technology solutions. Maktoob maintains the lead by constantly adding the new and the innovative; trying to strike the balance between catering to the needs of our community and growing our business services and solutions in harmony with this fast growing industry. We @Maktoob come from very different working backgrounds. We try to promote a synergistic inter-departmental dialogue and cooperation between the technical, the creative, the intellectual, the legal, the business and the sales oriented types. Diversification, we believe, is the major asset we have and the main contributor to Maktoob's success.
