Vitas Jordan is a continuation of the 1998 Cooperative Agreement signed between Global Communities (formerly CHF International) and USAID to establish the Southern Jordan Access to Credit Project (SJACP). In response to the local community needs, the vision of transforming the project into a sustainable local corporate entity was realized in January 2013 by the registration of the Middle East Micro Credit Company as a Limited Liability Non-Profit Company in January 2003. The company was renamed Vitas Jordan to reflect its affiliation with Vitas Group, an international commercial holding company with subsidiaries in Jordan, Palestine, Romania, and Lebanon. Vitas Jordan remains true to its founding principle: to make a difference in our communities by creating financial opportunities to all segments of society.
