نبذة عن شركة Petroleum Development Oman

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is the major exploration and production company in the Sultanate. It accounts for more than 90% of the country's crude oil production and all of its natural gas supply. The Company is owned by the Government of Oman, the Royal Dutch/Shell Group,TotalFinaElf and Partex. The first economic find of oil was made in 1962, and the first consignment of oil was exported in 1967. The Company places emphasis on the development and implementation of new technology to grow the value of its assets and to reduce costs. PDO's Mission: To find, develop and produce oil and gas responsibly and profitably in order to contribute to the sustainable development of Oman. The objective of PDO is to engage efficiently, responsibly and safely in the exploration, production, development, storage and transportation of hydrocarbons in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company seeks a high standard of performance with the aim to further the long term benefits of its Shareholders, its Employees and the society of the Sultanate of Oman at large. PDO is one of the biggest companies in Oman and its operations have a major impact on the Sultanate's economy. The Company also impacts directly or indirectly on the lives of innumerable people, whether they are staff, employees of contractors, inhabitants of the concession area or simply our neighbours. Whatever the relationship, we are well aware that we have a duty beyond that of simple oil producer. We too are citizens of Oman, and as good citizens we recognise we have responsibilities that go beyond our main function as an oil and gas producer.
