Established in Dubai in 2000, Rami Al Ali Couture entered the fashion arena with bold creations and uncompromising couture designs. After a number of inspiring fashion shows around the Gulf, Al Ali’s notoriety spread and his designs began to occupy the covers of leading fashion magazines and red carpet celebrations. The excitement continued and garnered attention from global brands such at Swarovski. Al Ali was chosen to be a part of UNBRIDALED, a book published by the global Austrian crystal brand, with revered couture veterans Giorgio Armani, Vivian Westwood and John Galliano,amongst others. The collaboration demonstrated his ability to participate in an international market. Al Ali’s ultimate breakthrough came in 2009, when his Spring/Summer couture collection graced the runway at Rome’s AltaRoma couture week. This was the first time Al Ali engaged professionally with the European fashion media, and was the first of six consecutive shows to take place during this prestigious fashion week. His success was further cemented by being named as one of the top 50 most influential Arabs by The Middle East Magazine. In January 2012, Ali Ali debuted at the Couture Fashion Week in Paris, showcasing his Spring/Summer 2012 collection amongst the crème de la crème of the fashion world, including Elie Saab, Chanel, Valentino and Dior. Now on his seventh consecutive season in Paris, and with the recent launch of his debut prêt-à-porter collection, Al Ali’s transition from daydreamer to global trendsetter is complete. Today, Al Ali’s designs are sought after by celebrities and socialites alike, adorning the likes of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Kelly Rowland, Gemma Arteton, Kelly Osbourne, Chanel Iman, Julie Bowen, Carla Gugino, Youssra and Googoosh amongst others. The Rami Al Ali woman ranges from sweet bride to blossoming socialite, with femininity being his core design aesthetic.
