The Health Sector Reform Programme (HSRP) is a scheme aiming at achieving a comprehensive reform of the Egyptian health sector. The goal of this HSRP is to ensure universal coverage of the population with a basic package of primary and public health car services. The principles of this reform strategy are equity, accessibility, efficiency, quality and client statifaction, affordability and sustainability. Health Sector accounts for about 4% of the national economy and affects the social weel being and productivity of the entire population. In developing the HSRP many relevant aspects were considered and analyzed including: the country profile, the health sector profile ( organization, infrastructure, human resources, health services utilization, health care financing and spending and pharmaceutical sector analysis) the strengths and weaknesses of the system and the needs of the reform.
