University Hospital Sharjah is the first hospital of its kind not only in the United Arab Emirates but the Gulf Cooperation Council Region (GCC) as a university hospital. It was set up by a special decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme President of the University of Sharjah The hospital was created to be an international medical care institute with the most up to date equipment and medical teams with high levels of expertise. The hospital has bed compliment of 210 and 40 multi specialty Out Patient clinics supported by cutting edge technology with modern laboratory equipment and radiology department which include MRI, CT scan, ultrasound imaging, fluoroscopy and mammography imaging, Our Vision: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah set the vision for the hospital as: "A state of the art teaching hospital with eminent clinicians working in a modern environment with a high degree of Information & Communications Technology to support clinical practice".
