Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking to hire a Head of Business Engagement & Governance for one of our partners, a multinational financial services company.
Summary:
The Head of Business Engagement & Governance is a senior leadership IT professional, who has a track record and broad experience in various IT areas of expertise and business environments, he is a self-starter, assertive, confident, and enthusiastic to be part of the company's IT leadership team heading Business Engagement & Governance.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the technology Business Engagement across Africa and align business strategic planning and transformation to IT delivery and execution priorities.
  • Lead the definition, implementation, and communication of the IT strategic planning and governance and direct the creation and review of IT strategy, priorities and plans to support the company's AFRICA business strategic requirements.
  • Lead as the strategic interface between the Business Account Managers and Customer Success Managers and Business functions with Technology partners to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of technology in order to advise top management and suggest action steps to increase efficiency and effectiveness across AFRICA Technology Centre.
  • Ensure the process efficacy, in alignment with Group Technology, of new technology acquisitions and related technical requirements assessment, vendor exploration, tendering and evaluation process. And ensure technology cost efficiency by leading the vendor negotiation activities.
  • Establish a solid Project Management Office that ensures strong execution and compliance of technology implementation, project management principles and monitoring controls, timelines tracking and budgets adherence.
  • Determines the requirements for the appropriate governance of enterprise IT, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and authority, goals and objectives  in alignment with the company's Group Technology.
  • Leads the establishment and maintenance of a IT Governance function that provides a consistent and integrated approach to IT service management, and in line with the company's corporate governance requirements and industry best practice for COBIT and ITIL.
  • Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles and guidelines and technology standards implementation to streamline internal operations and optimize organization-wide benefits.
  • leading and maintaining the relationship with the company's strategic vendors, manage the vendor portfolio across all technology domains, and ensure the vendor consistent performance across all engagement.
  • ensure the company's rights through strong contract negotiating, creating vendor standards, and maintain the vendor’s performance profile.
  • Conduct post-implementation assessments of new initiatives, report on the findings, and make suggestions for further enhancements as necessary.
  • Ensure the establishment and improvements of the IT performance management framework and performance evaluation for continuous improvement and reflection on IT planning.
  • Coach, and mentor direct reports to build a strong leadership competencies and cross-functional organization capabilities. And provide leadership and strategic direction.
  • Operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of capital, staffing and equipment.
  • Provide clarity on objectives, scope and organizational change management

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Communication Engineering
  • At least 17 years of professional IT work experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT strategic planning, architecture and governance domains.
  • Solid expertise and knowledge of end-to-end information technology management, operations and domain expertise.
  • Business relationship management skills, serving as the liaison between IT and banking, business, and executive roles.
  • Track record in leading IT leadership, strategic planning, IT delivery and IT governance.
  • Experience in IT consulting organization or serving as an internal consultant to a variety of business, banking, and technical stakeholders.
  • Solid experience of enterprise architecture principals and standards (TOGAF certified preferred)
  • Exposure to service delivery and development models/standards (e.g. ITIL, Agile, Scrum)
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Visio, Access and Project) and Office 365 Tools and Apps
  • Strategic capability planning
  • Understanding of “Value Management” (what is the value and how is it measured)
  • Ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions and approaches.
  • Influences policy and strategy formation
  • Performs highly complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects.
  • Creatively applies a wide range of technical and/or management principles.
