Job purpose Team PHINIA is looking for a dedicated MCAD and Simulation Engineering Support Specialist. This role is crucial for supporting, managing, and optimizing our Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) and engineering simulation tools. The candidate will provide technical support and management for MCAD and Simulation Software applications, facilitating efficient and effective use in our automotive engineering and design processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level support for MCAD and engineering simulation software, addressing technical queries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal tool performance.
- Manage user accounts, roles, and access permissions for MCAD and simulation tools, ensuring alignment with project requirements and organizational policies.
- Coordinate with IT and engineering teams for software updates, patches, and upgrades, maintaining system integrity and performance.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for engineers and designers, enhancing their skills and proficiency in using MCAD and simulation tools.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, best practices, and standard operating procedures for MCAD and simulation applications.
- Monitor tool performance and user feedback to identify and implement improvements, enhancing user experience and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with software vendors and technical support teams for issue resolution, staying abreast of the latest developments and features in MCAD and simulation technologies.
- Assist in the integration of MCAD and simulation tools with other systems such as PLM, ensuring a seamless workflow in the automotive design and engineering processes.
- Facilitate data management and security within MCAD and simulation environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and data integrity.
- Gather and analyze user requirements to recommend software enhancements and customizations that align with automotive engineering needs.
- Packaging and distribution of MCAD/Simulation tools
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid experience in supporting MCAD and engineering simulation software in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of popular MCAD tools (e.g., NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, AMESIM, etc…).
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on providing effective technical support and user guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering training and effectively interacting with engineering teams.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and provide prompt support responses in a dynamic engineering environment.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and best practices in the context of MCAD and simulation tools.
- Experience with data management, version control, and compliance within engineering software environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for MCAD and simulation software customization is a plus.
- Experience with System Center Configuration Manager or Intune Company Portal a plus
