ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team for a fixed term period (1 year). As a key member of the Global Operations Transformation Learning team, the Learning and Development Specialist develops high quality solutions that are part of a larger strategic learning strategy to enhance employees’ performance and support specific business needs. Learning solutions may include eLearning, microlearning, virtual instructor-led and in-person classroom training, and on-the-job programs, among other delivery methods. The successful candidate must be familiar with all aspects of the instructional development process (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) and be proficient in using rapid e-learning development tools such as Articulate 360’s suite of apps. The Learning and Development Specialist works closely with leadership, internal team members, subject matter experts, business partners and other stakeholders throughout the development life cycle in order to ensure that learning programs meet or exceed business needs and objectives.
This is a fixed-term individual contributor role with broad impact on our Global Operations organization. This position reports to the Head of Learning and Development within Global Operations Transformation
WORK YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
Learning Development (Instructional Design)
Create learning experiences that result in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills
Follow a system; like, ADDIE or SAM for assessing needs, designing a process, developing materials, implementing and evaluating effectiveness of learning programs
Work with team leadership and internal team members to design, support, and maintain strategic learning initiatives including but not limited to: new program development, program evaluation, course maintenance, and process documentation
Work independently, with subject matter experts or with guidance from peers or team leadership, to design, develop, and support learning programs as assigned, including but not limited to: eLearning, classroom training, virtual training, media, and other learning support materials
Partner with internal team members to effectively contribute to all phases of learning development including content development, quality assurance, testing, release, support, evaluation, and the revision cycle
Communication
Clear, concise and persuasive when connecting with others
Apply persuasion and influencing techniques to gain agreement, commitment and buy-in from subject matter experts, business partners and/or stakeholders
Develop and deliver information in various formats and media; for example, reports, briefings, memorandums, presentations, articles and emails
Project Management Basics
Management of work to deliver on learning initiatives
Develop project plans and schedules that integrate resources, tasks, and timelines for learning deliverables
Monitor and communicate progress towards the achievement of project goals, objectives and milestones
Evaluate Impact
Evaluate the impact of learning and/or performance improvement solutions
Develop and implement a systematic method for gathering, analyzing, and reporting on information about the effectiveness and effort of learning programs
Organize and present data relevant to business strategies and goals to inform decision-making, improve learning programs and increase the value proposition of learning with business stakeholders and senior leadership
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Required Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in the Learning and Development field, planning and preparation, presentation and facilitation, designing and developing learning materials, project management, and/or learning program management
2-4 years instructional design experience - eLearning, virtual-instructor led, and traditional classroom instructor-led
Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides
Proficient in using Articulate 360’s suite of apps
Experience delivering training in a classroom, small group and/or on-the-job environment.
Experience leading virtual learning events using Google Meet or a similar video-communication platform
Highly organized and able to efficiently manage multiple priorities. Meets deadlines. Strong operational focus
Proactive, positive, effectively manages expectations, uses sound judgment, escalates concerns when necessary
Ability to effectively adapt to a changing environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a virtual environment independently and collaboratively
Ability to travel up to 10%, as needed
Possess essential competencies vital to the Learning Specialist role; including but not limited to Instructional Design (for eLearning, virtual instructor-led, instructor-led), Training Delivery and Facilitation, Communication, Relationship Management, Teamwork and Project Management.
