Program Manager - API Deployment (Finance) - Agile Focus
Experienced Program Manager with a strong background in Agile project management and expertise in technical deployment within the finance sector. The individual will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of API deployment programs while leveraging Agile methodologies to drive efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Requires deep knowledge of financial systems, technology, and Agile practices, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for API deployment in the finance domain, incorporating Agile principles and practices.
- Define program scope, goals, and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Create and maintain program backlogs, release plans, and sprint schedules, prioritizing features and user stories based on business value and dependencies.
Agile Project Management:
- Implement Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban to facilitate iterative development, collaboration, and feedback.
- Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams in the estimation, breakdown, and prioritization of user stories, tasks, and deliverables.
- Monitor team velocity, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to optimize workflow and productivity.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Engage with key stakeholders across business units, IT, compliance, to gather requirements and align expectations.
- Provide regular updates on program progress, risks, and dependencies, maintaining open communication channels and managing stakeholder feedback effectively.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to refine requirements, validate solutions, and ensure delivery of high-quality APIs that meet user needs.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks related to API deployment, compliance, security, and regulatory requirements, working closely with compliance and legal teams.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory frameworks governing API integration in the finance sector.
- Implement security measures and controls to protect sensitive financial data transmitted through APIs, in alignment with organizational policies and standards.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of API deployment programs and Agile initiatives.
- Conduct regular retrospectives to reflect on team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement actionable strategies for continuous learning and growth.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the program team, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a program manager or project manager in the finance industry, with a focus on API deployment and Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, products, and processes, with expertise in API integration technologies and Agile frameworks.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certifications preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
- Experience with Agile project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, AgileCraft, Rally).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to API deployment in the finance sector.
