THE
POSITION
1. Purpose
of the Job
The purpose of
this role is to lead medium(4-5) to large size project (1-2) that implements
standard engineering solutions along with customised (complex) specials, if
required for successful completion within budgeted time and cost constraints
and meet required quality.
The project
teams handle all applicable disciplines.
To be
technically responsible for the overall technical design and technical scope of
the systems and/or solutions in scope of the project, fully in line with
Honeywell standards, design rules and guidelines.
To support the
implementation of projects in line with P&AS objectives including
productivity improvement, budget adherence, quality delivery customer
satisfaction, & schedule.
The Sr. Systems
Engg. Supervisor would functionally manage a group of engineers in areas
outside of direct project scope. Examples of this are day-to-day management
activities, training, knowledge sharing, Performance evaluation, assigning to
projects, etc.
2. Principal
Responsibilities
Acts as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraints.
As Sr. Systems Engg. Supervisors provide support to Systems Engg. Manager for work force planning and engineering teams’ personal development.
Provide support to drive the continued improvement of the team’s
skills and effectiveness.
As Sr. Systems Engg. Supervisor be responsible for the career development of their direct reports and support future management / engineering capabilities with attractive career plans created and aligned with the Systems Engg. Manager.
Manage the development of functional and detailed technical design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and broad expertise for multiple disciplines.
Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, quality, schedule, and budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
Produces and gets approval on functional and detailed design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for the project team.
Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements, across all disciplines, in terms of functionality, Honeywell standard designs & design rules, quality, and supports documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by optimizing use of global productivity tools and other Standard Builds deliverables.
Ensures that work assignments and sub-contracted work are executed to appropriate technical requirements, standards and quality systems (Implementation, Test and Documentations).
Monitors and controls technical project scope against the Engineering Delivery Plan (EDP) and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, engineering disciplines and ensures lessons learned reporting at project completion.
Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements and shares technical knowledge back to Discipline Communities, and the project team.
Reports progress/ Engineering deliverables status (EDS) and technical problems and/or changes to project manager.
Actively contributes in the pre-engineering phase of a project. As such, identifies to the customer which information is required before project starts.
Monitor and Controls project Commercial (Billability, missing hours, unbilled invoices etc.)
To provide / validate Engineering estimate.
Performance evaluation of the team.

5+ years of project experience as Lead Engineer
