Key Responsibilities: 
• Effectively manage and prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, align and efficiently execute against critical insights. 
• Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research using a wide variety of methodologies, generating testable hypotheses with test plans.  
• Mining internal data sources to produce meaningful reports and insights for Business stakeholders (technical and non-technical stakeholders). 
• Design and build executive dashboards in Pendo and Power BI to provide consistent, quality information and data driven insights to our stakeholders. 
• Conduct user research and analysis to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points, and leverage these insights to inform the product design across applications.  
• Partner with content creators and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and consistent labeling, tagging, and categorization of content for accurate and meaningful analytics and semantic structures that enable behavioral analytics and composable UI architecture. 
• Establish and enforce research guidelines and best practices, promoting data-driven strategy for usability and accessibility across our product suite. 
• Assist with usability testing and user feedback analysis to continuously improve and iterate on the design of critical applications across the Extreme portfolio.  
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging practices in behavioral analytics, data visualization, data taxonomies, and enterprise SaaS, and share insights and knowledge with the team. 
• Educate partners like product management and engineering on qualitative and quantitative research methods, and best practices in survey design, modeling, and analytics.  
The Contribution: 
• Create research agendas by listening to product management goals and needs, weaving quantitative and qualitative methods for collecting user data. Communicate results and illustrate suggestions for product improvement in compelling and creative ways. 
• Guide product teams to create measurable experiments in the design and construction of software applications, creating surveys, experiments, and behavioral models through analytics. Establish best practices for user research operations and trainUX designers and product managers on the use of research tools; including resourcing strategies, tool optimization and education, and process improvements that help us scale and deliver outcomes-based roadmaps across the product organization. 
• Help to develop user-centered product improvement metrics that are measurable and accurate.  
• Optimize our Research Platforms, Tools, and Practices, how and when we use them. 
• Follow lean startup and pairing methods with design, product, and engineering teams to ensure what was designed and validated gets built.  
What you need to succeed 
• Degree(s) in a human behavior related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Economics. Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in human factors, applied research and/or product development or a Master's degree and 4+ years relevant experience, or PhD and 2+ years relevant experience. 
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing user research that drives iterative improvements to digital products. Including market/descriptive, correlational, Quasi-experimental research, and multivariate survey design.  
• Experience applying quantitative analysis methods such as Statistical Analysis, Regressions, Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling, Time Series Analysis, Multilevel Modeling, ANOVA and T-Tests. 
• Deep experience in at least two of the following research skills: statistical analysis, survey design, quantitative study design, data analytics, data visualization, web analytics.  
• Exposure to one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: SQL, CSS, Java, JavaScript, Python, R etc. 
• Ability to build structurally sound (internally and externally) surveys, create data models and triangulate data to relay higher confidence in applicable findings.  
• Experience with analytics tools and user research methods, for example: NVIVO, Qualtrics, usertesting, respondent.io, Pendo, Google Analytics, sentiment analysis, micro-feedback, stakeholder interviews. 
• Experience working within a product teams, including collaborating with designers, content strategists, researchers, UX engineers, and product management.   
• Familiarity with A/B testing, sentiment analysis and eye-tracking technologies.  
•Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, networking industry and SaaS product design and development.  
• Proven track record of successfully conducting research/analytics for complex digital products, with measurable improvements in user experience. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements and create a matching research agenda.  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
