Institutional Review Board Administrator Job - Weill Cornell Medical College

POSITION SUMMARY

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and WCMC-Q have recently launched a Joint Institutional Review Board (IRB) to provide a unified ethical review of human subjects research conducted by either institution.

Under the direction of the Director, Research Compliance (WCMC-Q) and the Director’s counterpart at HMC, the IRB Administrator is responsible for the efficient management of the Joint IRB, adapting to an evolving regulatory and research environment, and reconciling multiple sets of regulations.

POSITION ACTIVITIES

1. Responsible for the efficient management and documentation of Joint IRB activities, including supervising and training of staff from each institution that are assigned to support the Administrator and IRB. Delegates tasks to staff as appropriate.

2. Conducts preliminary review of submissions to the IRB, communicates deficiencies to the investigators, and works with investigators to ensure identified issues are addressed adequately prior to review.

3. Analyzes and applies relevant regulations, policies and ethical principles to ensure that protocols undergo the appropriate level of review and that the review meets requirements; moderates negotiations between the IRB and investigators.

4. Oversees preparation for IRB meetings, including identifying expertise required for appropriate review, developing meeting agendas and ensuring that review documents are assembled and distributed.

5. Attends all IRB meetings to advise regarding applicable regulations, institutional policies and ethical principles and to ensure that meeting conduct meets requirements.

6. Evaluates the IRB review process on an on-going basis, and proposes and implements improvements; assists in preparing for internal and external audits and in preparing statistical reports.

7. Assists in the training of IRB members and of researchers and their team members.

8. Communicates with government officials, external consultants, and key personnel (such as counsel) of each institution to ensure compliance with all requirements.

9. If necessary, responsible for administration of the WCMC-Q IRB for any oversight activities remaining after the transition to the Joint IRB.

10. Performs other job related duties as required.

Insurance Authorization Officer Job

Insurance Authorization Officer will mainly be responsible for administering timely and accurate insurance authorization approvals.

Main responsibilities are:

Medical Coder Job

The coding function is a primary source for data and information used in health care services, and promotes provider/patient continuity, accurate database information, and the ability to optimize reimbursement. The coding function also ensures compliance with established coding guidelines, third party reimbursement policies, regulations and accreditation guidelines.

Medical coder will evaluate, code and monitor physician's professional coding of various medical services, inputting the appropriate code of various medical services so that health care practitioners and providers can receive payment for services rendered, interprets and analyzes medical record documentation, and applies correct coding principles as defined by regulatory authorities.

The main responsibilities will be:
• To accurately code diagnoses based on the physician's documented diagnosis.

Female Registered Nurse Job - Al-Istishari Hospital

• Applicants must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
• Makes walking rounds at the beginning and end of shift while receiving and/or giving report.
• Implement, evaluate, and revise the Plan of Care (developed by MD) for each patient
• Promptly respond to call lights and other resident needs
• Counts narcotics at beginning and end of shift, always initialing the count sheet appropriately ascertaining accuracy of count.
• Performs finger-sticks as ordered by MD scheduled during shift.
• Maintain knowledge in pharmacology, lab values, and infection control
• Administers all medications (oral, s.q., I.M., or I.V.) as ordered by M.D. and according to Facility policies. May administer up to 60 minutes before or after time ordered. Also, administers (hangs) tube feeding as ordered by M.D.; starts I.V.’s as ordered.
• Checks critical or “sick" patients frequently and documents findings, changes, etc. in Nurses Notes and notifies supervisor and/or M.D. as necessary.
• Observes patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition for signs which may be indicative of adverse change.
• Reports observations to supervisor and/or MD as necessary.
• Documents in nurses notes and places on charting list and calendar. Also notifies patient’s family as necessary of any significant change in patient’s condition.
• Leads, guides, and supervises nursing assistants and orderlies.
• Supervises care and treatments performed by nursing assistants and orderlies. (Example: Vital signs, ROM, ambulation, rehabilitative programs, etc.)
• Monitors documentation of care and treatments performed by nursing assistants and orderlies.
• Completes incident reports and calls physician if needed.
• Completes appropriate nursing documentation according to policies and procedures.
• Admits new patients, completing the following: Nurses Admission Record, Nurses Notes, status change slip, dietary requisition, taking off orders, and checking MAR’s (Medication Administration Record)
• Assists with handling disciplinary problems, under the supervision of the Unit Director/RN Supervisor, or the Assistant Director of Nursing, involving the nursing personnel of the unit/hall.
• Refers to the Director of Nursing those disciplinary problems which are un-resolvable through the disciplinary policies set forth at Istishari.
• Participates in all departmental and hospital wide educations offerings, mandatory for position along with an ongoing pursuit of Continuing Education Credits in clinical subjects, management, personal growth and development.
