The Electrical Inspector is responsible for all technical inspection and code enforcement work as it pertains to the installation and alteration of electrical systems and related equipment in structures of all types. In addition to this, he/he is responsible for ensuring that all work performed is within regulatory compliance. Work is general performed in the field and independently.

Responsible for the rough-in and final inspections of new, existing and altered electrical systems to ensure regulatory compliance with all electrical codes and ordinances as well as, all pertinent technical standards and regulation for workmanship and safety (projects includes industrial, commercial and residential)

Responsible for the investigation of electrical installations for evidence of tampering while checking load conditions.

Reviews blueprints and specifications outlining proposed electrical installation activities for possible regulatory conflict, the recommendations of necessary changes to meet technical standards and the authorization to issue stop work order on substandard electrical wiring.

Authorizes stop work orders for substandard electrical wiring and monitor the reinstallation for proper compliance.

Explains and simplifies electric/applicable codes, regulations and electrical policies to relevant parties.

Considerable knowledge of the methods and practices involved in the construction, installation, maintenance and operation of a variety of electrical installations, equipment and appliances.

Thorough knowledge of the national regulatory codes and ordinance with respect to electrical wiring installation.

Ability to read, understand and inspect from construction and wiring plans, blueprints, drawings and diagrams and understand the codes pertaining to electrical wiring installations.

Ability to compile, summarize and accurately document information and data relative to each inspection for Manager’s review.
