KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all mechanical works are executed safely.
• Full knowledge, understanding, and endorsement of all HSES policies, procedures, rules, regulations and certification requirements.
• Ensure availability of all subordinates for required HSES training.
• Develop and implement construction HAZIDs, risk assessments, job safety analysis and safe methods of working.
• Assist in major incident investigation and reporting.
• Assist in the maintenance and audit of the certification process.
• Manage the day-to-day running of the mechanical department.
• Assist the commercial and planning departments with mechanical quotations and appraisals.
• Responsible for mechanical works on all projects and manage all mechanical department staff.
• Manage and coordinate machine shop works and mechanical store activities.
• Organise maintenance of mechanical tools and equipment.
• Update project managers on mechanical department works and schedules on a daily basis.
• Arrange all mechanical subcontract works.
• Monitor the progress on projects.
• Monitor actual man-hours against budgeted man-hours and take steps to correct overruns.
• Assist customers with mechanical solutions.
• Travel to other sites as well as offshore to assist with problem solving.
• Ensure all works are carried out in an efficient and safe manner.

Mechanical Background
• Candidate should have had previous jack-up rig experience with a contractor and be knowledgeable on area’s such as mud pumps, hydraulics, engines, jacking systems etc.
• Candidate must have worked on jack-up rig projects and been successful in the delivery of these projects.
• Candidate must have worked in the fabrication yards and not just offshore on rigs/platforms.
