The DBA will have a leading role in the architecture, implementation and support of the company data stores. This position will work closely with IT Operations & Application Development, providing comprehensive coordinated support for applications utilising Oracle and SQL.

Responsibilities:
• Support of Oracle and MS databases, application servers and tools, installs, updates, upgrades, patches, tuning, optimisation, backups and resource management.
• Maintain security and DB patches with best planning.
• Provide ongoing support on DB related issues.
• Application Performance tuning for SQL queries.
• Provide trend analysis for the technical and application support staff.
• Ensure backups and multiple environments are maintained.
• Capacity to stay up to date with the latest in Oracle, SQL technology products and versions.
• Create new production environments and conduct user acceptance testing.
• Monitor, troubleshoot all databases and provide expert support and advice when needed.

Educational Requirements:
Candidate must have the following:
• Bachelor's degree or related experience.
• 5 years professional IT experience working in a high demand, service-oriented environment.
• 2 years as an Oracle database administrator or SQL Server administrator and or Oracle senior application developer in PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of database design fundamentals and the use of data modelling tools.
• Ability to write procedures, functions and triggers.

At least 2 years experience in at least 3 in a active hands-on in the following:
• Oracle 11g/10g Enterprise Edition.
• PL/SQL.
• Oracle Database Administration.
• Oracle DataGuard.
• Oracle Backup and Recovery Managers.
• Oracle Monitoring and Tracing.
• OS - UNIX, Linux and Windows Server.
• Shell scripting under UNIX and Windows.
• VMWare aware.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Oracle Database Certified Professional: 11g or 10g.
• MCDBA - Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.
• MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
• MCSA - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
• Knowledge of Object Oriented programming.
• Arabic language speaking/reading is an advantage.
