Our client, a local company is currently seeking to recruit Specialist - Software EngineeringKEY RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES Develop safety and non-safety critical software according to military and aviation standards- Review system requirements to provide feedback from software engineering perspective.- Develop software requirements from system requirements.- Design the software modules based on software requirements.- Implement the software based on software requirements and software design.- Generate test cases and procedures from software requirements and software design.- Generate relevant software life cycle data required by program.- Perform software verification and validation activities, including unit testing, low level and high level testing, reviews and analysis (Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA), Requirements Coverage Analysis (RCA) and Data Control and Coupling analysis (DCC)).- Conduct peer reviews on the full software life-cycle data. Gain sufficient system engineering domain knowledge pertaining to the developed software. Perform trade-off analysis, select software tools and contribute to the establishment of the company software life-cycle environment Conform to established company's software development, quality assurance and configuration management guidelines and processes. Establish and improve company software engineering processes, standards and documentation templates according to commonly accepted military and avionics standards such as RTCADO-178B, MIL-STD-498, IEEEEIA 12207 as required by specific program. Support all major program milestones (such as the SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR). Provide the required mentorship, assignments and supervision for the development of UAE national junior software engineers and work closely with the CBT Coordinator for the purposes of candidate assessment and improvement relating to training and development needs See to the refinement of software process documentation to support the company ISO certification process. Comply with company statutory requirements, rules and safety requirements. Participate in approved training that is aimed at learning on a personal level while benefitting the company.

Skills and Competencies Extensive knowledge and experience in military and aviation software development standards such as RTCADO-178B, MIL-STD-498, IEEEEIA 12207. Extensive experience regarding the full software life-cycle processes (e.g. planning, development, verification and configuration management). Extensive knowledge pertaining to CC++ programming languages for developing the software for real time applications in avionic subsystems. Extensive experience of HWSW integration and test. Experience in requirements management tools (DOORS etc.) Knowledge and experience in the Unified Modelling Language (UML) and software design tools (Enterprise Architect, Rational tools etc.) Familiarity with software configuration management principles and experience in using version control tools (Subversion (SVN), CVS, ClearCase etc.) Familiarity with software change management principles and experience in using tools (ClearQuest, JIRA, Trac, Redmine etc.) Knowledge of ARINC 653 compliant RTOS. Ability to grasp technical issues quickly and deliver practical solutions Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English, both verbal and written as well as good technical writing skills. Ability to achieve results in high pressure situations and meet deadlines without compromising on quality Good leadership skills and experience Ability to provide coaching and mentorship for junior engineers. Ability to achieve results in high pressure situations and to meet deadlines without compromising on quality.Education BSc in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electronics Engineering.Experience At least 8 years experience in developing avionics software.
