About the role
In the heart of Careem lies the DineOut team, a collection of brilliant minds dedicated to revolutionizing how our community experiences dining. As we expand and innovate, we’re looking for an Engineering Manager who shares our passion for impact, innovation, and excellence. As the Engineering Manager for the DineOut team, you will lead a group of highly skilled senior engineers towards achieving groundbreaking advancements in the food tech space. Your leadership will not only drive technological innovation but also foster a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What you'll do:
- Lead and mentor a team of top-tier engineers, nurturing an environment of technical excellence and innovation.
- Drive the agile development process, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a cohesive product strategy, enhancing customer experience and business outcomes.
- Leverage platformization to optimize service delivery, enhance scalability, and achieve significant business impact.
- Align engineering initiatives with strategic business objectives, measuring success through tangible outcomes.
- Actively scale the engineering team by strategically hiring strong cross-functional talent
What you'll need:
- Working knowledge of at least one of these: Java, Kotlin, iOS
- A strong educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in leading large engineering teams within dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects that drive business impact, with a solid understanding of agile methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership qualities, with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop highly skilled senior engineers.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on operational excellence and the delivery of high-quality, impactful solutions.
