Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are key to providing economic growth, providing valuable employment opportunities, improving productivity and helping to diversify GCC economies. Research shows that SMEs create revenues and GDP six times faster and jobs four times faster than larger businesses. This is the key rationale for plans outlined in The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 of developing SMEs in order to build a sustainable and vibrant economy.

In Abu Dhabi SMEs currently represent a quarter of all private sector companies. This relatively low proportion suggests a huge potential for UAE based entrepreneurs and a huge opportunity for the UAE to grow this vital economic sector increasing GDP, revenues and employment.

In light of this, the SME Congress and Expo will support a government drive to grow SMEs by providing an invaluable platform for businesses and organisations to build relationships and do business, while being the premier learning and networking arena for individuals and organizations involved in all types of SMEs.

Young Emirati’s who attend the event will have the opportunity to receive advice on the funds in place for entrepreneurs, how to start their own business, how to develop a business plan and how to improve the performance of their existing business ventures.
