Senior Executive The goal of Toters development team is to enhance customer experience by providing requested features at a both a rapid pace and with high quality. We have a rich catalogue of technology applications spanning multiple platforms (including native iOS/Android and web apps, PHP Laravel backend and Angular front end). Our applications are already in wide use by many types of customers (restaurant and business owners, delivery staff, admins, operations managers and business development). We are rapidly expanding locally and regionally. Our flagship product is in direct competition with some global brands in the same space.
You will be joining Toters at a very exciting time as the tech team is expected to both scale their infrastructure but also continue to deliver new high quality features at a rapid pace. While our are mature and up to date with the latest best practices (ie Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, Continuous deployment, Github git flow etc), we look up to someone like you to help us mature our QA process by making use of their experience and knowledge of developing and applying QA processes in similar environments. We currently use TestRail as our case management tool along with Jira.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Quality Assurance Engineer level II, you are expected to have a very deep understanding of our product and business operations. You must liaise with all our departments including operations, marketing, accounting, and business development and make sure that the solutions provided by the technical team meets their needs. You will be at the very beginning of the software development life cycle where you will gather requirements in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, write the business case doc, functional requirements as well as test cases using TestRail. You will also be at the end of the software development life cycle where you will be responsible for ensuring all the new features are tested, and that the existing features (integration testing) is done via our unit tests and integration test tools. We don’t expect you to write automation tests yourself, but we do expect you to coordinate regression testing with the automation engineers. You will be ultimately accountable for ensuring that the build meets all Quality Assurance Tests and the daily deploy won’t go through unless you approve it. You will report directly to the CTO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years relevant work experience Experience in writing business docs, functional requirements and test cases Experience in using case management tools such as TestRail A good technical background with understanding of basic computer science concepts. Basic understanding of version control concepts using applications such as Git, SVN or TFS Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral. Feels comfortable talking with various departments including engineering, marketing, business Good knowledge of UX (User Experience) concepts and feels comfortable making basic wireframes and working with designers Feels comfortable working in a startup environment, where typical roles in large corporations may not exist yet (your responsibilities span more than your direct role) and where there are strict deadlines and a rapid pace.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with QA project management as part of a larger software development workflow Have experience leading other QA members and training them Advanced knowledge of software requirements principles such as the difference between writing user stories and functional requirements Worked as part of a production support team (either in a full time capacity or on a team rotational basis).
