Job Description


The Commercial leader is responsible for the business performance of the NielsenIQ key business unit for the market.  Responsible for driving business development opportunities of NielsenIQ services primarily for Retail Measurement Services by managing the account development team.   Develops client relationships, mostly with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) as well as Tech & Durables (T&D) clients, by using the Client Engagement Model in pursuit of NielsenIQ’s vision and core purpose to be the leading independent measurement company.  Increase the penetration of NielsenIQ’s other sales areas (Analytics, Ecommerce, Customized Intelligence).

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT  


  • Be the role model for C-suite interactions with Clients, applying the Client Engagement Model to understand their needs and form a joint business plan together with the Customer Success teams  
  • Actively engaged in C-suite discussions to gain a real time pulse of clients’ needs, and drive a wider reach within clients’ organization  
  • Regularly listen to the voice of the clients   
  • Identify whitespace clients across NielsenIQ services in industry we can engage with  
  • Personally sponsor “deep” relationships with selected clients to “co-create ” new innovative products  
  • Work with regional and global client business partners for multi-national clients to grow their business and investments in the market

  • Build a high performance and diverse commercial team by leading through influence and inspiration  
  • Build meaningful relationships within the team and encourage a culture that exemplifies NielsenIQ’s values

  • ​​​​​​​Actively contribute as a member of the local Site Leadership team that looks after local employee engagement  

  FINANCIAL EXCELLENCE  


  • Build, plan and execute annual operating plans for the business unit with a focus on driving higher levels of profitable revenue growth  
  • Responsible for Revenue, Cost and Cash collection which includes developing a strong pipeline to meet operation plan targets.  
  • Identify the next growth drivers for the business unit by balancing short and long term (3 year plan) priorities that match the key competencies of NielsenIQ  
  • Ensure disciplined product portfolio management to maximize EBITDA (driving revenue and streamlining costs), cash flow and continuous margin improvements  
  • Work with Product Leadership team to prioritize product initiatives to anticipate or meet the market demands  
  • ​​​​​​​Personal involvement in critical deals – guides and coaches the team to make every proposal a winning proposal  

  EXECUTION EXCELLENCE  


  • Work with Customer Success, Operations and Product Leadership teams to ensure timely delivery of commitments and client satisfaction  


  INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT  


  • Be an industry face of NielsenIQ in the market -- an “ Industry icon ” who is a visible, positive contributor in the media, forums, associations and high profile industry boards  
  • ​​​​​​​Modernize our local marketing campaigns to “proactively” position NielsenIQ as the thought leader  

Qualifications
  • We are looking for the Ideal Team Player (Humble, Hungry and Smart) with 10-15 years of sales / marketing or research experience, who knows their numbers.  
  • The candidate must be able to build trust-based client relationships.  
  • We need someone entrepreneurial who will find and create the next opportunity.  
  • Problem solvers who collaborate well that will listen to clients’ needs and propose the best solutions for their business problems.  
  • The leader must have excellent communication skills who can present insights, market trends and explain complex concepts to clients simply.  
  • People management experience of a sales / marketing team is a must.
