Data Analyst

STARZPLAY is a subscription-based streaming video-on-demand service (SVOD) headquartered in Dubai and available in 20 countries in the MENA region. Our service streams thousands of blockbuster Hollywood movies, TV shows, live sporting events, documentaries, kids’ entertainment, and dedicated Arabic content to subscribers in the region. This is what makes us the fastest-growing SVOD service in the region. 

Responsibilities - What your day-to-day looks like

• Leverage STARZPLAY’s data to carry out performance analyses to answer business questions and provide actionable insights to the Retention, Product and Marketing teams
• Ability to conduct exploratory data analysis and understand larger picture trends happening within the data
  
• Build predictive models to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue and retention including data discovery, data preparation/cleaning and model validation
  
• Mine through User and Content data to develop deep analysis producing meaningful insights that will lead to improving customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and drive key decisions
• Translate complex concepts to non-analyst stakeholders through data, visuals, and narratives
  
• Build custom reports, reproducible analysis and dashboards for management and teams
• Work cross-functionally with product, tech, marketing, data and billing teams to ensure the quality & validity of data used for reporting & business decisions

Requirements - Technical Knowledge & Skills

• 1-2 years of data analytics experience in an online/E-Commerce environment;
• in a numerate degree or demonstrable equivalent experience working with complex data
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Advanced Conditional Formatting, Macros etc.)
• Highly proficient in SQL to structure and extract large datasets for Analysis and Modeling
• Strong Data Visualization and Storytelling skills
• Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Familiarity with Python and its usage in data analysis is a plus
• Knowledge of subscription business is a plus
