As a part of the company strategy, there are several initiatives from different product streams that demand engagement from D&A with a high level of urgency and delivery. As a part of the D&A Operating Model, there are 3 roles which are key to sustaining delivery across the functions (Data Product Manager, Solution Architect and Portfolio Manager).
The Portfolio Manager focuses on working in a multi-disciplinary environment harnessing the output (Data Products from our Data Lake) developed from the different pillars across D&A to provide real impact for the GBUs at a market and regional level. This requires working in a cross-functional way with our IT&D, D&A and business organizations to positively enhance the performance and adoption of the Data Products resulting into positive impact for the business. Furthermore, the Portfolio Manager is responsible for the governance of such Data Products in addition to their timely delivery and, as such, will be working closely with Product Managers in IT&D and a variety of D&A specialists (e.g., data engineers, data scientists, solution architect, data stewards) to problem solve, remove any roadblocks, and stay inside budget commitments. Lastly the Portfolio Manager will be responsible alongside the Product Managers for the continuous performance management tracking of Data Product delivery and success as well as overseeing the scrum processes and work with the teams’ Scrum Masters
