Principal ETL Engineer – Informatica

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Informatica ETL Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, data integration, and a deep understanding of Informatica tools. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our ETL pipelines, ensuring high performance and data quality across our data ecosystem. 

Responsibilities  

• Design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica tools. 
• Implement ETL solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources into the data warehouse. 
• Integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources including databases, flat files, APIs, and cloud platforms. 
• Develop and maintain data integration solutions to support analytics, reporting, and other business functions. 
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation, cleansing, and transformation processes. 
• Optimize ETL workflows for performance, ensuring efficient data processing and minimal latency. 
• Collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. 
• Lead and mentor junior ETL developers, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills. 
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data mappings, and system configurations. 
• Generate reports on ETL performance, data quality, and other key metrics for stakeholders. 
• Monitor ETL processes and workflows to ensure smooth operation and timely data availability. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues, providing timely support and solutions. 
• Stay current with the latest developments in Informatica tools and ETL technologies. 
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation. 
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and data security standards. 
• Implement best practices for data privacy and protection. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• 5+ years of experience in ETL development with a focus on Informatica PowerCenter and related tools. 
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL. 
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices. 
• Proven ability to optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability. 
• Experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) and Informatica Cloud. 
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation and data manipulation. 
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. 
• Knowledge of other ETL tools (e.g., Talend, DataStage) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is idea
