About Us:

Markaz is on the mission to supercharge the rails of e-commerce for the common man in Pakistan. We want to empower the Pakistani middle class, with a special focus on women who are currently not part of the Pakistani financial ecosystem, and help establish hundreds of thousands of new online entrepreneurs in the coming years. We enable anyone in Pakistan to start their online business with zero investment from the comfort of their home and make money by selling products through different social media channels like WhatsApp and Facebook. All they have to do is download the Markaz app, get access to 1,000s of products, share them on their social media with a profit margin and get orders. Markaz will take care of everything else: delivery, payments, customer experience and profit dissemination.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Product Designer who will be responsible for designing exceptional user experiences for our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in product design, preferably in e-commerce or consumer tech industries. The candidate should be able to create elegant, intuitive, and visually appealing designs that meet business objectives and delight our users.

Responsibilities:

• Design interfaces and customer journeys for mobile, web and desktop platforms keeping in mind the engineering constraints
• Collaborating with product and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
• Develop design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that communicate design intent and facilitate feedback from stakeholders and users
• Conceptualizing original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Work with the engineering team to ensure the implementation of designs meets design intent, quality standards, and accessibility requirements
• Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve design quality and innovation
• Create and manage prototypes for new product ideas
• Strive to deliver user-centered design solutions

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in e-commerce or consumer tech industries (preferred)
• Proven UI experience in designing consumer focused digital platforms
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a solid foundation in user-centered design principles, visual design skills, and design process
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  
• Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills
• Proficiency in Figma or an equivalent platform for creating screens and prototypes
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively
• Passion for clean design, attention to detail, and empathy for users
