About the Business
Description and Desired Qualifications
The Halcrow Urban Water team deals with a range of public and private sector clients and provides specialist technical advisory and project management services on water industry projects in the Middle East . Due to continued growth and opportunities we are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer with extensive design management experience in wastewater projects to join our team in Qatar.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for the delivery of wastewater projects and will, therefore, have extensive experience in design review and project management of major wastewater projects. You will play a key role in the development of new business as well as the tender preparation process; the ability to provide technical and commercial / contractual input is critical. As the interface between key stakeholders, which include the Client and various Government Departments, excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills are essential. Both English and Arabic language skills are key to this role. Due to the nature and locations of the projects, travel is a major component of the role and, therefore, applicants must be willing to spend regular periods away from their home base.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years experience as a Principal Engineer involved with wastewater projects.
Demonstrable design review and Project Management experience with wastewater treatment plants, wastewater pumping stations and wastewater / drainage networks.
Experience with business development and winning new work.
Technical and Commercial experience with tender preparation.
Experience of working with local Clients and dealing with Government Departments.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
Chartered or Professional Engineering registration.
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Design & Build contracts.
Experience leading the tender preparation and submittal process.
Current or previous experience working in the Middle East . Fluent Arab language skills.

Service Engineer (QATAR) Job - Honeywell

An opportunity has arisen for a multi-disciplined engineer to join the Honeywell PAS (Process Automation System) Maintenance Team at the Qatar Shell GTL site. The team is a dynamic, multi-disciplined team responsible for ensuring the integrity and operational availability of the Process Automation System.

The team covers all aspects of preventative and corrective maintenance, DCS configuration troubleshooting through to supporting plant modification projects, commissioning activities and plant startup.

The team is an integrated part of the Qatar Shell GTL asset team and as such, the candidate will need to feel comfortable in interacting with the client and have good written and oral communication skills.

The Qatar Shell GTL site requires individuals to be able to manage a high workload, in a high pressure environment whilst maintaining focus on priorities and carrying out work in a safe and controlled manner.

The position is a site based position (5 days per week) at the Qatar Shell GTL site in Ras Laffan Industrial City, State of Qatar. This is a local hire position and not rotational.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine/complex preventative maintenance work and/or corrective activities for all system components that comprise the PAS (Process Automation System).
• Definition, design, and implementation of PM scope.
• Deploy latest system software, patches and updates (including Honeywell On and Off Process Migrations)
• Deploy latest security and antivirus updates across the PAS.
• Identify and contribute, where relevant, to hands-on training of other PAS Maintenance Team members.
• Understand and adhere to the ‘management of change’ (MoC) process.
• Responsible for all activities pertaining to the requesting, accepting and closing of permits to work (inclusive of performing risk assessment and site impact analysis, peer reviews ensuring the necessary approvals and controls are in place before work proceeds and that the implementers are aware of the limits and restrictions of permits)
• Raise the necessary SR’s with the relevant Honeywell Technical Assistance Centre and follow issues through to resolution.
• Escalate any SR issues considered to have either a serious impact or political impact to the System Custodian immediately.
• Maintain pro-active relationship with customer.
• Take part in an on-call rota to support the operational availability of the PAS out of normal working hours.
• Support site start-up and commissioning activities working closely with operations.
• Adhere to, and ensure the full adherence of others to the sites mandatory Process Control Domain security requirements

Process Control Engineer Job - Shell

As the world searches for greener forms of energy, we expect demand for natural gas - the cleanest hydrocarbon - to double over the next two decades, and are well positioned to capture growth opportunities.

The Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project includes the development of offshore natural gas resources in Qatar’s North Field. Upstream, natural gas is produced, transported and processed to produce 120,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of condensate, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane. Downstream, dry gas is used as feedstock to produce 140,000 barrels per day of clean, high quality GTL fuels and products.

We’re currently looking to recruit a Process Control Engineer.

Responsibilities:

You will be accountable for:

- Process control related issues, covering control and safeguarding, including associated operator interface (HMI),
- Preparing and reviewing Management Of Changes, including impact assessment during implementation,
- Carrying out acceptance testing of functional modifications to the Process Automation System (PAS),
- Ensuring consistency and accurate documentation in manuals, procedures and etc. for the complex and for the Multi Purpose Dynamic Simulator,
- Providing training of process control strategies for users in operation and technologists/engineers,
- Ensuring continued process integrity, meeting Group standards,
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of process stability to improve control performance, reduce alarms and enhance operational capability by monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting and implementation of improved control strategies (including APC),
- Contributing to the improvement of process performance to reduce environmental emissions, flaring, venting etc. by adapting process control strategies, and
- Using MDPro and the MPDS (dynamic simulator) where possible as tool to improve control behavior of the plant.

In support of Qatar's aspiration to integrate nationals into the private sector, you will be required to participate in recruiting Qatari staff. Responsibilities:
- You will work with the Civil Maintenance Team in directing a team of contractors and technicians to ensure that the Insulation, Painting, Refractory systems are maintained in accordance with Shell and industry standards whilst ensuring safe, effective and optimal operation of the equipment. You will also be required to assist in the development of Insulation, Painting, Refractory work scope and planning for both shutdown and normal operating modes of the PEARL GTL complex.
