Senior Manager - Robotics & Automation

Summary

As a senior manager in the robotics and automation department, you will be responsible for managing the end to end life cycle of robotics and automation initiatives, from ideation through to delivery, including but not limited to areas of 3D printing, factory and field robotics. This role requires exceptional project and stakeholder management skills, as well as technical and commercial acumen in the space of robotics and automation.

Position description and responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive management to define the company's robotics and automation strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives, and ensuring continuous innovation and improvement.
• Project Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of robotics and automation projects, including scoping and procurement, planning, resource allocation, budget management, risk management, and timely and safe project delivery.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of robotics and automation professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Identify emerging technologies and contractors, conduct feasibility studies, and make informed decisions on new automation systems, robotics components, and process optimization opportunities from both a technical and commercial perspective
• Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to departments, sectors and cross-functional teams to identify robotics and automation needs, address challenges, and ensure seamless integration across all operational areas.
• Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Implement robust performance metrics, KPIs, and evaluation frameworks to track the effectiveness of robotics and automation initiatives. Analyze data insights to identify areas for improvement.

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of robotics and automation, 3D printing, construction management and processes, or factory-based modern methods of construction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop value propositions and business cases, and translate these into operational projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Automation, construction management, or a related field.
• Project management qualification desired
