Job Description
This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in steel construction, and the ability to effectively manage a multidisciplinary and multinational team. You will ensure that the project meets all technical requirements, adheres to safety standards, stays within budget constraints, and meets the scheduled timeline.
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead the technical team in implementing and executing construction plans, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Provide guidance to project stakeholders, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Develop and refine the technical strategies.
- Contribute to the overall project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, with a focus on technical requirements and feasibility.
- Ensure project plans, specifications, and drawings comply with international standards and local regulations.
- Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and specifications, providing expertise to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with the design team to optimize steel structures for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify potential technical risks and develop contingency plans to address challenges that may impact the project timeline or budget.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all construction work meets the highest standards of quality.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any deviations from the project specifications and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Budget and Schedule Management:
- Work closely with the project management team to develop and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and/or acceleration opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Stakeholder management:
- Liaise with clients and consultants to address technical concerns and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Communication:
- Foster effective communication among project teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between technical, architectural, and construction teams.
- Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and presentations as required.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager on large-scale construction projects, particularly in stadium construction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of complex contractual requirements.
- Extensive experience in client-facing roles, able to effectively engage and manage client interactions.
- Adherence to local and international construction regulations and environmental standards.
- Clear communication and ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent English language skills. Additional languages, especially Arabic can be a plus.
- Open to work across all countries of the Middle East.
