Let me relate an example here. If you know about Cricket, those days we didn't have the latest technology to decide if a batsman is out and now we have a TV umpire to decide using replays etc. However, this does not endanger the ground umpire's job.

I think it will only improve the way doctors do their surgeries. Also these Robots could not do it alone  without the help of the Doctors.

Technology is there for the sole purpose of assisting people in undergoing different tasks in less time and more precision.  This said, doctors are not/or should not fear technology, however, embrace it in all its infinite capabilities.

Being assisted with robotic technologies is great, but as long as a human action is performed to supervise robots is always a need.

Nice question,I am an android developer and i can just share my views. What i am telling is not an answer just my view on this question.I am an Indian and we have a stream of medical science which is considered to be one of the oldest curing methodology.During ancient period ,skilled people(You can call the as doctors of those ages) used plants and prayers to cure diseases.Of coarse no surgery, but in6th century BC Sushruta used to conduct surgery and he used leech as an anticoagulant. He as also written a book on this(Sushruta Samhita). In today's  world these medicinal plants are replaced by pills.Surgery is very common,we have assistance of cameras and other modern technology in surgery. You might have heard of key hole surgery where body is not even opened properly.Recently a feature program of national geographic showed a research topic in which a team has developed a micro sized robot to carry out eye surgery with help of nanotechnology. The amazing aspect of this that we can hardly see the robot with our naked eye.So from all these it is clearly evident that technology is taking its turn in all ways.

Doctor means a wide concept,Doctor is not just a knowledge db of medicine,He always have a judgment capacity.Doctor use these modern technology to perform his action. And i feel that Doctor will not be replaced with a robot at least in these upcoming years so there is no endanger to doctor's profession. But doctors need to to be up to date in technology else it can affect their profession.

Machines never replace humans works, robotics surgeries save time n cost  and complicated surgeries become much easier to perform, there're lot of step before n after surgery in which doctors, surgeons n physicians involvements are require.
