What Comes First: Motivation or Creativity?

Thank you Omayyah for your great question , in my own opinion the relation between motivation and creativity is the relation between cause and result ,motivation is the cause and the creativity is the result which logically comes after the cause .
Both terms stand out in the project human resource management especially the section of project team development and management which includes interpersonal skills, training ,building team co-relation,co-location and a fair system of recognition and rewarding to motivate the project team for more great creativity to support the organisation success.

The important point to be considered is that there is a difference between 'the promise of a reward' and 'the reward' itself! Failing to announce 'the promise of reward for creativity ' is as demotivating for creativity as not rewarding creativity!! Therefore, motivation is a pre-requisite for creativity.

motivation gives creativity and creativity gives motivation is a reciprocal relationship

As a writer I am motivated by the subject and then creativity flows to translate to others what I see.
Or when it is about topics I am passionate about - motivation is there and leads to creativity.
Within a working environment depending - it is first the one then the other.

Creativity always comes first, as children are always curious & creative they make planes & flowers out of paper, creativity is one of the primal characteristics of an intelligent life form like human beings.
The only problem is the the stereotyped education system most of the times kills these little birds of innovation , creativity & originality.

I agree with Ali, it is indeed a cause and result relation, you cannot just become creative without being motivated.
But, we need to consider that it's a nonlinear relationship, as people are motivated differently, according to many theorists and practitioners, therefore, you can motivate, but not get the same result.
On the other hand, innovation by itself is a nonlinear result; it depends on talent, confidence, (team work, leadership in corporate world), and chance sometimes.
In order to safely conclude, innovation will be more likely with the presence of motivation, but, there plenty of other factors to consider as well, talent and skill are key in the process.

Both are two side for one coin , meaning that every one know how to the best way of motivate and make creativity of himself / herself and that not only in your work but in your whole life as long your breath up , you must know the best way of making motivate of your self to reach up for the best creativity regardless what's happing to you as we all face in every second a lot of any circumstances but we must all know how to keep our spirit up and never look back , once you look back you will FALL down , No one can walk unless he / she is looking in front of himself / herself , Finally I advice every one here to know what is the secret deep inside every one in order to be always motivated and try to translate that in the best way in all your life not only your work and always be sure tomorrow Sun will shine if you accept or didn't accept , So I wish you all the best thinking in your life to the best and if you didn't do that , at least you tried and that's an owner to you when you breath your last breath that you always tried to be a unique person not a normal one.
