Are there far more education/training opportunities than there are jobs for broadcast journalists?

The increasing number of broadcast journalism programs and degrees available suggest that qualified journalists are highly in demand within the industry. But in reality, there appear to be only a select few paid positions available for qualified broadcast journalists. Are there too many training programs for the number of jobs available?

Hi Ban, thank you for inviting me to answer this question.
Yes, indeed.
But isn't that the scenario globally for a lot of professions? Increasing number of qualified graduates with very limited opportunities in the industry.
Here in the Middle East, work experience speaks for itself rather than your degree.
So if you have work ex prior to your post graduate qualification, your chances of getting a decent job in broadcast journalism are higher than a candidate who went to grad school right after undergrad.
I speak from my experience and what I've observed around me.

Hello Ban, thanks for asking this question.
Broadcast journalism in specific is a very competitive field.Tthe job opportunities are scarce to those who have a specific degree in broadcast journalism or those whom have many years of working experience in the field regardless of their degree.
So it would appear that paid job opportunities in broadacst journalism are few in comparision to the numbers of graduates with different journalism degrees.
In reality, every specific aspect of journalism has enough paid jobs to accomadate all qualified newly graduate journalists.
