What is the best way for me to learn the grammar basics and rules by myself without any teacher?

If you believe yourself to be an independent learner, then you should first get a copy of Basic Grammar in Use then a copy of English Grammar in Use (intermediate) both by Raymond Murphy.  

They are best-selling, self-study grammar books and many learners have benefited greatly from them.

For me, the best way to learn the grammatical rules is to try as much as possible to talk in English, also you can buy a grammar book that is easy to understand, then try your best to build up some sentences and analyse it depending on the grammatical context that you are working within it.

For example, if you are beginning to learn English; purchase books that are for beginners. If you are fluent in English then purchase books for advanced level learners. ESL books are very helpful to learn English.
