According to IAS 16 PP&E; what is the accounting treatment for major repairs and maintenance?

Knowing that the major repairs lead to two situations for two different assets:1- the repair increases the use value of the first asset.2- the repair extends the useful life of the another asset. What are the accounting treatment for each asset?
