For me having been in the Hotel Industry for long I think all departments are as important as each other, because they are all unique and with special responsibilities but all geared to one goal, offering the best customer experience & satisfaction. You can not make a comparison in the hoel departments operations.
Its a F&B Department as people first concern goes on the taste of the food item.
There are more departments in hotel industry ( Front office, F&B service, F&B production, Housekeeping, HR, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, IT and support, Health Club)
Each department has it pros and cons. if someone interested in particular department then it will be best for him/her. its all about perception.
