Plants have increasingly become an integral part of the interior design of building in recent times.
This is due to prevailing fashion and also in an attempt to produce an environment in which people feel psychologically comfortable.
And it is also an attempt to be in touch with the nature.
This research study aims to find how thermally comfortable environments could be achieved by using indoor plants and find how the different characteristics of plants, such as the color, leaf size, height and even the number of plants affect the internal thermal environment.
The research was done in a model situation where all the factors were constant and only the types of plants were changed.
Readings related to the indoor air temperature and the indoor relative humidity at different positions inside the house were taken at every one-hour through a full day.
The readings obtained with the plants were compared with readings obtained without plants involving the same indoor environment.
The different readings found with different plants reveal that indoor plants directly contribute to its surrounding environment.
The experiment further revealed that the indoor air temperature and indoor relative humidity the main variables related to human thermal comfort in building interiors vary with the use of plants.
The observation shows green color plants, tall plant and more number of plants as variables, which affect the indoor air temperature.
The colored plants effectively reduce air temperature only during the nighttime.
The large leaf plants do not reduce the air temperature much effectively and they have a potential to increase the indoor air temperature.
The research observations show that the plants do increase tile relative humidity but it does not vary with the color of the plant, plant height and number of plants as in the case of air temperature.
So the use of indoor plants reduce the indoor air temperature but they are increase relative humidity.
Thus plants do not change the indoor environment at condition to a significant comfortable level, but when coupled with psychological comfort the plants offer their effect on the indoor environment, which is quite considerable.

Research shows that indoor plants: Help improve indoor air quality Help reduce sick building syndrome Help improve well being Help improve productivity and performance Help to lower stress and negative feelings Help to reduce noise Improve business image with potential clients Contribute to fulfilling at least 75% of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Criteria

Plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen during the day.
This can help as a sort of air conditioning effect.
Plants also help regulate the humidity in a given room.
Both of these factors can have immense impact on the thermal conditions of the room.
Also, by integrating plants into the design, you can now opt to supplement/complement regular lights with natural light.
Plants need sunlight to live, and at the same time offer shade.
This translates to a natural light control system.
If I remember correctly, Ferrari has already integrated internal gardens inside their assembly building, which is interestingly also called a plant.
According to Discovery Channel's Megastructures, the internal gardens are essential in providing the perfect humidity for certain processes within the assembly line.
The natural light and the overall soothing look of foliage also help keep the workers relaxed and cheerful.

Hello. To make your interior design includes green plants is definitely useful in many aspects:
1- Scientifically: Plants provide oxygen, so you have a better amount of your breathing air, so better health, better energy, and better performance.
2-Thermally: Plants can help to ease tension, so indirectly you feel like a calm atmosphere.

3- Aesthetically: Plants add an aesthetic touch to your design, it's natural green and natural colors is a good plus beside all the other made things, this means more relaxing space, and they are attractive too.

4- Spiritually: Plants are a living creatures, they have spirits, they eat, breath, sleep, live and die; just like us .
So taking care of them, and see them grow up can lift your spirits.

thermal comport is depending on atmospheric temperature and humidity.using plants we can control both of them.also we can decorate our home by using medium size of plants.
indoor plant are reducing temperature in the day time by absorbing carbon dioxide.because CO2 is a main fact to increase in the temperature.but we plan to use this method to reduce our atmospheric temperature in the night we should be careful.because in the night time they also release CO2 to environment and absorb O2 from environment as well as we are doing.
in this method we can reduce our consumption of electricity.

Thinner plants coldness of any environment, makes them warmer, more to taste.
There intrinsic aspects of the human being that link us directly with nature, which makes us enjoy and identify in a room with some kind of vegetation.

Time has changed they call it innovative i call it escape from nature.
Plants are natural constituents to full the gap between human and natural life style.
Plants , trees, grass etc they can never be excluded from the basic constituents of life.
