Does age matter in hiring a potential candidate? What is the preferred age range in teaching?

a wine taste better when its old. teachers gets better as they gets old. if a teacher engages in research, then young fellows are preferred as the research they do will have relevence compared to the old fellows who spend most of the time in teaching itself. they may have done something but the relevence of that research today may not make that impact.
