WHEN WOULD YOU PREFER PILE FOUNDATION AND FLOATING FOUNDATION ?

Pile foundation is prefered when rock strata is available below the prescribed foundation while in floating foundation we use the principle that soils deeper would have a much higher bearing capacity.Pile foundation could be supported either by friction or end bearing,in which both contributes the bearing capacity of the structure.In floating foundation sand would be the main part in which friction is less.Piles are econoic in good soil while floating foundation is prefered in sandy soil.I hope the answer is to the question
