THIS IS THE JOB OF MARKETING DEPARTMENT TO MONITOR THE SALES/ LIFE CYCLE OF PRODUCT EACH MONTH,, MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ACCORDINGLY, NEW VARIATIONS, CHANGE IN PACK SIZE, MORE USAGE ETC,,, ITS A REGULAR PROCESS.

when product is launch marketing department determine its life cycle chart which include costing, advertising and target customers, promotions etc. and periodically manage the change and variations in coordination with sales.

It is mostly marketing activities at the begining of the broduct life cycle (early adoption). marketing and sales activities are balanced as the product reaches wide spread adoption then marketing activities decrease and sales activities increase as the product reaches maturity.
