Follow Mercer on Twitter <a href="https://www.twitter.com/mercer" target="_blank"><span>@Mercer</span></a>.</p><p></p><p><span>Mercer</span><span> is seeking candidates for the "</span><b>Actuarial Intern</b><span>" based in the Istanbul office.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Main Responsibilities:</span></b></p><ul><li><p>Assisting in basic <span>actuarial/quantitative</span> analysis projects under the oversight of senior project team members in order to assist in assessing and calculating costs, rates, risks and trends associated with underwriting health and welfare insurance, brokering contracts, or projecting health care related costs.</p></li><li><p>Gathering, organizing, and checking client or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness, and to assist in identifying any discrepancies.</p></li><li><p>Assisting in performing basic analyses and cost projections by using or modifying existing products, tools, and pricing models in Excel, SAS, and other software, with oversight from senior project team members.</p></li><li><p>Assistimg senior project team members in preparing reports for data trend analyses in order to summarize findings and recommend a strategy, solution, or plan design to the client.</p></li><li><p>Researching industry, regulatory, and legislative trends for calculating risk, liability, and cost for client or government reports.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li><p>Education: University Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering are preferred</p></li><li><p>1 year of experience in actuary</p></li><li><p>Language: Turkish/English</p></li><li><p>Location: Istanbul</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Technical/Functional Skills Required:</b></p><ul><li><p>Previous experience in actuary or related service center role preferably in various consultancy companies would be an asset</p></li><li><p>Strong working knowledge of PC-based software applications for analysis and reporting, particularly MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact skillfully and confidently with stakeholders to develop ideas, identify opportunities, and influence outcomes.</p></li><li><p>An effective team player, with developed communication and negotiation skills to focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with the customers</p></li><li><p>A clear, fast thinker, problem solver, able to translate business needs into pragmatic solutions and implement them</p></li><li><p>Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken</p></li></ul></div></div></div></div>
