Responsibilities:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide necessary support
- Build, design, and maintain robust and scalable data architectures ensuring the efficient storage and retrieval of large volumes of data
- Create and implement data models to support business requirements for various applications and analytics
- Develop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes for seamless data movement and transformation between systems
- Responsible for data integration, transformation, quality, and preparation of data-centric solutions like data warehouse, data lake, and data analytics projects
- Manage and optimize databases, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and security and advise any necessary infrastructure changes to reach real-time capabilities
- Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for data storage, processing, and analytics
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data
- Research opportunities and new technologies to improve existing systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, MIS)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of data engineering
- Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, REST API, and XML web services
- Experience with data modeling concepts and ETL processes
- Experience in data ingestion from a variety of sources like DBs, APIs, streaming data
- Good understanding of file formats including JSON, XML, and Parquet
- Experience building systems to perform real-time data processing using Apache Beam, Google Pub/Sub, or Kafka
- Having knowledge about Cloud environments like GCP, AWS, Azure
- Experience in continuous development and integration tools such as Azure Devops
- Ability to perform on multiple tasks both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Flink
- Familiarity with MSMQ, RabbitMQ systems
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow to schedule and monitor data processing
