A multinational free zone automotive company is recruiting an experienced Assistant Supply Chain and Logistics Manager.

Overview 
The Supply Chain & Logistics Assistant Manager oversees the coordination and optimization of supply chain operations. The position is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain General Manager in various tasks and this role involves managing inventory, monitoring transportation, and ensuring efficient logistics processes. The role demands a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to navigate and resolve logistical challenges effectively.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support in developing and implementing Logistics plans in line with corporate Logistics strategy to support overall business objectives.
  • Handle operations related to logistics - KPI, inventory, transport, Integration of information & customer requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating the performance of vendors and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, assist in negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effectiveness while implementing 3rd party logistics performance measurements.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimum inventory levels at all times with key focus to avoid aging inventory situation.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize damages during storage, transportation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Oversee preparation and maintenance of shipping and customs documentation while ensuring compliance with international customs regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking information, and other relevant logistics data.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them by proactively addressing issues related to transportation, customs, and other logistics challenges.
  • Supervise and lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance by conducting regular training sessions to enhance the skills of the logistics team.
  • Implement best practices to enhance the overall efficiency of the logistics operations with proven ability to resolve critical issues to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for multiple customer accounts including management and improvement of services provided to distributors / customers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, warehousing and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication with strong analytical, planning and organizing skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
