As a Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily operations, including the preparation of mis-en-place and production. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Knowledge of the individual menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation, and presentation style. Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness. Gain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel. Responsible for mise en place. Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality. Set up section as required by Chef De Partie and Sous Chef. Be responsible for minimizing food wastage. Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions. Be pro-actively involved in the hotel’s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.

Previous experience as a Commis Chef Positive attitude. Good communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction. A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career and the culinary arts. Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course.
